| Trinity Recording Artist, Cheryl Smith is a singer / songwriter who has a genuine love for traditional Bluegrass music . Raised by a father who played the banjo and guitar and sang tenor that sounded like Ira Louvin, and a mother who sang lead and alto, Cheryl grew up singing with her parents in church. Her roots run deep in Bluegrass, and her sincere love for it is evident each time she sings or strums the guitar. Having two parents, several uncles, aunts, and other relatives who were either singers or musicians or both, Cheryl grew up enjoying family get-togethers, all centered around the music she and her family loved and enjoyed. After singing together at family gatherings, Cheryl and her cousin Jennifer, formed a duet and they, accompanied by Cheryl's Uncle Don, began to sing at local gatherings around the Miami Valley in Dayton, OH where Cheryl grew up. While many of the people her age were listening to rock and pop music, Cheryl was busy honing her harmony skills listening and singing along with the likes of Ricky Skaggs, Flatt and Scruggs, and the Stanley Brothers. From the age of three, when she first surprised her parents riding in the car, piping up perfect tenor from the back seat as they drove along singing "Amazing Grace", Cheryl has never stopped singing. It is her desire and goal to glorify God in everything she does, including the music she loves to sing and write. With the divine inspiration God has given her to pen songs and to sing them, it is her aim to be a blessing to those who hear her songs and hear her sing. | With many songs already completed, she is writing more to complete her first album, only her best song's go on her albums. |
